3D Vision Fix by mikear69Fixed1. All shadows fixed.2.

Water reflection/refraction3. Smoke/Fog halo4. Disabled a minor lighting effect5. No problem:-)I am going to look at shadows and hopefully can some up with something, even if approximate at certain depth/convergence etc.I am also going to add in a couple of keys to toggle DOF on and off and also to toggle 2d shadows on and off. Some people have suggested they can play the game with the 2d shadows on if they toyify the game a bit, and I know widescreen gamers have less issues as well (though I don't understand why), so adding in a toggle will give that option while still benefitting from the other fixes. AnonymousThanks for the fix. Finally I can start playing the game.

It is better than I thought in the beginning. Unfortunately the cut scenes are not properly fixed, I guess it is because of the shadow. But overall this is no problem. But I have one problem with the first chapter of Leon, because after finding this guy 'shadow' who searches for his daughter, after I open the next door and the game tries to reload it crashes. I guess it could be related to the fix? What do you think. Thanks a lot.

OK - some investigation shows that it was the version of the DLL included. There are only two DLLs available that can be used with this game, and fortunately the alternative one works. I had the same crashing at that cut-scene, but not with the different DLL. If you continue to have issues, press Esc in the cutscene, that might help, or just disable the mod until you are past that scene and at a savepoint.I have updated the files so please re-download.Shadows in this game are something else. I am working on a fix that worked almost flawlessly in the demo, but the actual game is more complicated, with much more going on. It's currently still better than without it, but I'm not going to release it until I've been able to spend more time on it (which I am not able right now). AnonymousThanks for the response guys.I'm using the most recent 326.41 geforce beta drivers.

It crashes as soon as i launch the game with the mod installed. Works perfectly without.

Played for hours last night with no issues.Wont get chance now until tomorrow but i will read the known-issues html and try the steps you suggest and let you know how i get on.I have a feeling it might be a recent game update through steam that's causing the problem.Rig specsI7 3930K @4.4GHz.Gigabyte Assassin 2 X79.8 gig Corsair Dominator @1866MHz 9,10,9,27 1.65v.EVGA reference GTX 780 @1202MHz, 1752MHzEVGA reference GTX 580 dedicated PhysX.Corsair Force3 240gig SSD (+ other mechanical drives).Custom Cpu loop. Couple of other questions:- are you Win7 or 8?- have you ever managed to have the game work, or is this a first attempt?Main differences between you and me (assuming you are Win 7) is that I use SLI (x2 GTX 570)and I am still on the 320.49 driver.

I am avoiding the newest ones for now since there seems to have been a fair bit feedback about bugs. I know it would be a pain, but if you could roll back to 320.49 and see if it still crashed. I will similarly upgrade to the 326.41 driver and see what happens my end.The 600 and 700 series have some issue with shaders that get blanked out incorrectly but I think I have done it correctly for this game. The DOF OFF option blanks out the DOF shader of course, and both options (DOF On and OFF) blank out another shader that draws the light coronas.

This is the file ShaderOverride/VertexShaders/9028563A.txt. Try deleting it (or prepend with some character so its not picked up) and see if that does anything. AnonymousHi guys.Ok iv'e made a bit of progress with this problem. I've narrowed it down to a conflict with precision X (4.2.1) and/or Riva tuner statistics server (5.2.0) that precision uses.I've enabled compatibility with modified Direct3D runtime libraries. This time it loads but hangs on a black screen before anything is displayed and is being reported as not responding in task manager. Previously it would crash straight back to desktop with the exe stopped working message.Closing precision X results in the modded game launching properly!Any suggestions how to get the modded game working with precision?

I like to monitor card temps and whilst gaming and custom fan profile doesn't work without precision in the background.I'm on win 7. Hi thanks for tracking this down!I don't know how to get precision X working. I used to use a utility (may have been that one) but always caused me problems so I stopped. These things are nice in theory, but because they are so low level they do regularly conflict with other things.Nvidia Inspector gives you all the stats, graphs, temps etc, but of course not in OSD, you have to tab out of game to see them. The custom fan feature does work on it though, I use it quite a lot to set fan speed on my cards. Hi all - I am putting the final touches to a complete fix for shadows, and this will be released with a new version of the Helix DLL. It is unfortunate that different people have different problems with different DLL versions (this is what causes black screens etc), so what I will do is release patches with different DLLs in, so people can go through the list until they find one that works.

There is not really anything else I can do beyond that.Helix did have plans for fixing this game (including the shadows), but he hasn't (yet) and I discovered a new technique fixing Lego Marvel Superheroes that allows me to fix the 'fixed' shadows that change depth with distance, so I picked it up again. I had already fixed dynamic shadows months ago, but the game was too difficult to work with to streamline the fix that did not cause additional artifacts (random things rendering black). Helix's latest DLL has a new feature to cut down on the number of shaders to work with (from 10000+ to a few hundred) which is a massive productivity boost, and makes it more feasible to fix the game.

I currently have the Leon and Ana chapters pretty much perfect (as well as the survival type game modes), but I need a bit more work on the other two main chapters (Chris and the other one) and the Prelude.I might nor be able to get rid of all artifacts, but I will release it if I get 90% of the way there - it's still miles better than shadows that don't work. AnonymousThanks for the fix! Looking great! I just wish the gameplay stood up to the quality of the 3D. The more I play, the less I am having fun and the more of a chore it seems to work through the game.

Seriously, what is up with the ridiculous checkpoint save system? Having to go through several maneuvers to use a health pickup while you are in the middle of getting killed? Spots in the game where you are stuck with no ammo and really can't do much of anything? The chase sequences where the camera changes suddenly as well as what direction you have to point the controls, resulting in a cheap death? Oh yeah, the cheap shots, i.e. Getting knocked down again right after already being knocked down and trying to get up?

And hammering A and the thumb stick all the time to keep from dying? I had started playing on hard, but it became so tedious and maddening I changed it to normal, but even then it is still tedious. I don't think it is as bad as Jim Sterling made it out to be, but he is really not too far off on this one. It really seems as though they did next to no testing of this before they released it.Anyway, thanks again! Cutscenes are mostly looking good and overall it looks great! At least it LOOKS great LOL.-Drastic00, from Geforce forums.

Yeah I agree with you completely. I really like the look of it, the atmosphere, and the cut scenes, but all the key bashing (and dying 10 times when a zombie grabs you before you randomly manage to get out of its clutches), the unnatural aiming controls, the unresponsive movement, and definitely the knockdowns, just make it 'not fun'.

I am close to the end of the effort I can feasibly justify putting in, but I guess I learn something new each time I work on one of these games (I got back into this after fixing something in Lego Marvel) so its always worth it. Thanks for the pictures. I have not seen that before, hmmm.

The lighting is wrong for one eye, and it looks like bloom. I don't have any time to investigate right now, but if you look in the shaderoverride/VertexShaders folder you will see a file called '9F64E5F1.txt'. Rename that to something like 'Bak9F64E5F1.txt' so it does not get loaded and see what happens. It might have nothing to do with it, but if it does then I can fix it. Otherwise, a save game from you might be necessary. Thanks again,Mike.

Hi achile19 - can you post a screenshot? I am familiar with prelude and first levels and will be able to go straight to the problem points and see what shader is problematic (even though the problem does not happen for me, the images I have seen show that it is a particular lighting shader and I may be able to disable it for example). As I've noted, this has been the most troublesome game I have ever worked on in terms of different people/setups having different issues. Can you let me know (in detail) what your in game settings are, and what your nVidia control panel settings are (under 3d options), what driver you are using and if you are SLI or not? Also what graphics card you have (I am SLI GTX770 for example).

I am trying to build up a picture of what systems have problems (though I don't have much information yet). Hi mike, my driver is 331.82 with GTX780 ti, nVidia control panel settings are 'default' and game settings are high level. Regardless contol panel or game settings, it doesn't solve the problem. Without fix lights are good, but with fix lights are wrong for left eye.

I've got another PC with 2 GTX460 (one for phys x) with same drivers and same problem.I don't know how to capture screenshot. But you can refer to Pich's gallery, it is exactly what I see in game. For your answer and your time.

Someone posted this issue on the Nvidia Forums:is weird, I checked the game with only d3d9 and it worked fine without the displaced elements for the left eye but with messed up shadows.I copied the 6.0.1 in and they appear againI started to play with the in-game options. I was using highest AA fxhq3 (or something like that), 900p, basically all highest with framerate locked at 60 and Vsync ON.

So I turned the AA off completely, set the framerate to variable and turn off Vsync. Suddenly when I checked the game was fineI tried to check what setting caused this and turn all of them one by one on again (frame limit, AA, Vsync) but I turned them all ON again and the fix still works so I gone back to my original settings and its working although I do have the flickering shadows. So yeah I have no idea what have happened (I was changing the setting yesterday as well but with no result whatsoever) the game might be bugged since I got an error that I ran out of VRAM and the game crashed (4gb on 680).EDIT: I also updated to the latest beta drivers. And thanks for the FIX.' Maybe try the same thing.?What this shows though is that there something pretty low level going on with this game that I am not going to get to the bottom of. Hi mike,I tried things above but it didn't work, my problem was just resolution ( above he tried 900p and I think it's the reason why it worked.).1920x1080 1280x720 don't work, 1600x1024 1600x900 1440x900 work.I've got the bad flickering with fix v6 but it works fine with fix v5.3.There is no difference between last beta Nvidia driver and the last whql.I've got 2 PCs with 2 different configurations and it is the same on the both.I just can't play on my plasma TV because of resolution, it only accepts 1280x720 3D by hdmi.I'm french so sorry for my english.

The only thing I am doing specifically for those resolution (1080p and 720p) is setting what is called surface creation properties in the DX9Settings.ini file:General.SurfaceCreationModeList = 0;1;2.;WaterSF0;1920x1080DefMode = 2Format = 21Usage = 1Height = 270Width = 480SF1;1280x720DefMode = 2Format = 21Usage = 1Height = 180Width = 320SF2;1680x1050DefMode = 2Format = 21Usage = 1Height = 262Width = 420So maybe this is doing it.? If you could go into your DX9Settings.ini file and comment out those lines by putting a ';' at the start of them all, then seeing if it happens that would help me. If it stops the lights issue, you will still be left with water that does not work, but I should be able to get round that another way. If it's happening with v4 then I am at a loss. That version of the fix has been out for several months. Something else is wrong and it might be a DLL issue. It could be an Nvidia driver issue as well - when I run the original 'benchmark version' of the game now it looks like crap and does not render correctly at all without the fix let alone with it.

I never rolled back to an earlier driver to see what might have changed (clearly the demo hasn't). Maybe you could try a driver that was pre 320.XX?Honestly, I am giving up on this game I think - it's been a pain in my arse for so many reasons since the day I started it and it seems like the only person this fix works properly for is me, and I am not even all that keen on it lol;-) If changing the in-game settings or rolling back nvidia drivers does not work for you, then we are going to have to chalk this one up to a game that was not meant to be. Tried a different driver still didn't work.

I'm thinking its a dll problem maybe. Anyways I don't blame you for giving up who knows how many hours you probably put into it lol.

Thanks for getting back to me so quick. I was wondering if you could have a quick look at defiance? It's on the wrong profile so when you add it to aion everything looks good except a few things.

Just wondering If it would be an easy fix or time consuming? If you don't have time I understand that your a busy person. Put the line DumpAll=true under the General section in the DX9Settings.ini file;2.

Run the game using the debug dll, so you see red text at the top;3. Quit the game and there will be a folder called 'dumps/pixelshader'4. Take the file 39DABAAE.txt from the Dumps/PixelShader folder5. Copy it to the ShaderOverride/PixelShaders folder6.

Resident Evil 6 Walkthrough

Phim

Open it up in a text editor7. Empty the entire contents except for the following lines:ps30dcltexcoord v08. Save itThe above steps will disable that shader when the game runs. I will create a release with this already done, but I want to check out the shader myself first, because I don't know what it is actually doing. Yes that way is much simpler - I have no idea what I was thinking.;-)Water: those lines in the DX9Settings.ini file DO FIX THE WATER.

They are setting the stereoization properties of the render targets for water reflections/refractions etc. Please see the information at the top of the post that mentions this. I have no idea why these settings would affect lights for some people, but not others.

And yes, there are NO shader level corrections for water in V5.3.1. There IS in v4. The problem I had when correcting the lighting in v5 is that a particular shader necessary to force lights to be 2D also messes up the water and I was not able to find a way to correct it - so I looked for render targets that would do this, and used this in V5.3.1.One thought now that you have corrected your other issues with shader 39DABAAE, is to see if re-enabling the DX9Settings.ini properties still messes up the lights? Perhaps just the settings for your chosen game resolution. Other people reported the lighting issues, but after changing settings, resolutions, and a few other random things the issue went away. The game is buggy, and the DLL has never played well with it either, but its worth trying. Thanks for all your help on this.

It turns out I have these two settings set to TRUE already, so that probably explains why I have not been getting the issues that other people have. I need to look at what VS 66938957.txt does though - I am going to create one last package up anyway because my new water fix is better than the surface properties one because it is a shader fix and caters for all resolutions, and it also seems to be more accurate. I also corrected the v0.xy shader for completeness (but I don't think it makes any difference).

Hi - yes that is the rule, but honestly most people will never do this. You are an exception. The shader fix is a better approach, that's what I used in v4, and modified for my new (not yet published version). I am having a quick look (again) at spotlights - aside from the prelude flickering, this is the only other issue (you can see what I mean if you start the Leon chapter 'Underground', and notice that headlamps are fine, but spotlights in walls are off.

I know what causes this, but don't yet know how to fix it. I'm going to see if I have any new ideas.
